Human Viral Isolate Reference Sheet
Catalogue Item Name: Ad 14-3
Classification: Adenovirus 14 by hexon and fiber regions.
Passage: 2 Culture Host: A549 cells Time Period Host Cells Infected: 3 days
Original Source Information: This isolate was collected in March 2005 from a bronchoscopy sample from a 44 year old male seen in Arizona.
Method of Identification Confirmation: The sample was typed by sequencing PCR products of partial regions of the hexon and fiber genes and compared to our adenovirus sequence library and NCBI. By fiber gene sequence, this isolates is thought to be representative of the emergent Ad14 strains reported in 2007/8.
