Catalogue Item Name: Ad 14

Classification: Adenovirus serotype 14

Passage: 1     Culture Host: A549 cells     Time Period Host Cells Infected:  3-5 days

Original Source Information:  This isolate was collected in March 2005 from the nasal swab of a 3 year old male seen in Missouri.

Method of Identification Confirmation: The sample was typed by sequencing PCR products of a partial region of the hexon gene (protocol from CDC) and compared to our adenovirus sequence library and NCBI. By fieber gene sequence, this isolates is thought to be representative of the emergent Ad14 strains reported in 2007/8.
