Robin has a masters degree in Preventive Medicine and Environmental Health (1990) from the University of Iowa. At that time she focused on women’s work and health risks in agriculture, and in global health.
In 1991, Robin began to work in the newly formed Center for International Rural and Environmental Health (CIREH), becoming the associate director in 1993. She formally retired from the university in January 2008, but remains with the program as an advisor.
