Integrated Workplace Health Promotion and Health Protection Programs

Companies can improve their outcomes by integrating their health promotion and health protection programs.  That is exactly what Vermeer and Alliant Energy have done.  Glenda Anderson from Vermeer, located in Pella, IA, will discuss how their onsite clinic and pharmacy, as well as tying health costs to bonus and profit sharing, has helped reduce costs.  Alliant Energy will discuss their innovative ergonomics and functional movement screening program, how these safety programs are tied to their incentive program, and how it has saved them over $1.5 million over 4 years.

Iowa Worklife Forum Overview

The Iowa Worklife Forum aims to serve Iowa employers and employees by providing an online venue for engaging discussions about strategies used to address employee health and wellness.  The Iowa Worklife Forum hosts online webinars on the 4th Tuesday of the month from 8:00-9:00 am.  The forums are open to all employers and interested parties across the state of Iowa at no cost.

Each forum will host speakers from industry or academia on wellness topics related to workplace health promotion and health protection. They will share their best practices and experiences with insurance, wellness, and incentive programs that they have in place or have tried to implement.  There will be time for questions, answers, and general discussion about the viable aspects of each program as well as areas of improvement.

The Worklife Forum will be held online using a live, web-conferencing tool (Elluminate Live!) that allows participants to connect from across the state.

The Iowa Worklife Forum strives to create engaging events that allow Iowa employers to share strategies to improve the health, wellness, productivity, and morale of their employees.  We hope to see you there!
