Vijay Golla, PhD

Vijay Golla is an Assistant Professor in the College of Health and Human Services at Western Kentucky University. He is originally from Visakhapatnam, a coastal city in South India. He received his doctorate in Occupational and Environmental Health (Industrial Hygiene) from the University of Iowa in the Fall of 2007. Vijay was awarded the Iowa Governor’s Occupational Health and Safety Council’s scholarship award in November 2004. He earned a Masters degree in Public Health from Western Kentucky University, Bowling Green, Kentucky in 2003. He is a medical graduate from NTR University of Health Sciences, Andhra Pradesh, India where he worked on the National Polio Eradication Program and Acute Flaccid Paralysis surveillance. His research interests are in Environmental and Occupational Health, with concentration in the areas of environmental and occupational epidemiology, industrial hygiene, environmental exposure assessment, occupational cancers, and worker health and safety.
