Cultivating Agricultural Health
and Safety in the 21st Century:

I-CASH Endowment Campaign

The I-CASH motto defines its focus: “Helping members of the farm community stay alive and well in agriculture.” Reducing the rates of injuries and illnesses in agriculture is our main goal. Agricultural death rates are more than five times higher than the average for all occupations. I-CASH is striving to lower that rate through education and hands-on intervention.

To help achieve this critical mission, I-CASH now seeks $2 million in private support to provide resources to assist in funding community-based outreach, education, and research to prevent occupational illnessesarticle image and injuries in agriculture.

Initiated in 1990 by the Iowa Legislature, I-CASH is a unique partnership of The University of Iowa, Iowa State University, the Iowa Department of Public Health, and the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship. In addition, I-CASH has built a consortium of private, not-for-profit agricultural health and safety organizations, producer groups, and farmers throughout Iowa.
