Serving the states of Iowa, Nebraska and South Dakota, the Upper Midwest Public Health Training Center (UMPHTC) assesses the learning needs of the public health workforce and provides training to meet those needs. UMPHTC is one of 14 Public Health Training Centers located throughout the United States established by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration. The purpose of the training centers is to improve the nation's public health system by strengthening the technical, scientific, managerial, and leadership competence of the current and future public health workforce.
