Support the College
Since its founding in 1999, the UI College of Public Health has benefited from a wide base of support. The State of Iowa and University of Iowa have provided a solid foundation on which to build this new college, and many other institutions and organizations have given critical support. At the same time, College of Public Health faculty have been very effective in generating external research funding through grants and contracts.
However, the combination of state support and external research funding alone is not sufficient to maximize the many opportunities and obligations associated with the formation of the College. Private gifts are an essential element in helping the College fulfill its vision and mission of serving Iowa and the Midwest as one of the nation's premier state-supported schools of public health, while making contributions to the global community in rural public health education and training, research, and practice.
The College recently launched an annual giving program and is seeking gifts to fund several key priorities, including endowed scholarships, fellowships, and professorships. I-CASH Endowment Campaign
In a unique effort, the Iowa State University Foundation and The University of Iowa Foundation are working in concert with leaders of Iowa’s Center for Agricultral Safety and Health (I-CASH), Iowa State University Extension and College of Agriculture, and the University of Iowa College of Public Health to raise $2 million in funding to provide resources to support some I-CASH initiatives.
This funding will increase the quality and frequency of seminars, lectures, and other outreach efforts available to farm families and others involved in agricultural work. This support will also provide educational scholarships to Iowa’s rural and agricultural youth, families, and health professionals to acquire either short-term or long-term training in agricultural health and safety.
