Iowa Summer Institute in Biostatistics
Admissions Criteria
Undergraduate students and beginning graduate students who are US citizens or permanent residents are eligible to appy. Priority for admission will be given to underrepresented and disadvantaged students and to students from small liberal arts colleges which do not offer substantial course work in statistics or biostatistics. Interested current sophomore and junior undergraduate students are encouraged to apply and Hispanic, Latino, Native Americans, African Americans, Native Hawaiians, and other Pacific Islanders and also disadvantaged students are especially encouraged to apply.
Those majoring in mathematics or biological sciences (or both) are best suited for the program. Graduating seniors and beginning M.S. students are also welcome to apply, and some will be admitted, but priority will be given to undergraduates who will not have graduated by the summer.
Anticipated enrollment for this 2013 NIH sponsored SIBS program is 10-12 students.
