Admissions Application Process

Admissions Application Process

A) Application deadlines for MS or PhD in Community and Behavioral Health:

-Fall semester, April 1 (apply by February 1 for maximum consideration for financial aid)
-Spring semester, October 1

Applications for summer are not encouraged. Apply early to ensure admission decisions can be made in time for semester of choice.

B) Application Procedure for MS and PhD Programs

1) Complete the online Graduate College application at:

http://www.uiowa.edu/admissions/apply.htm

2) Send the following materials to the Office of Admissions:
Office of Admissions, 107 Calvin Hall, The University of Iowa, Iowa City, IA 52242

  • Official GRE General Test score reports
  • Official TOEFL score reports, if required. International students, contact the Office of International Admissions at 319-335-1534 if you have questions.
  • Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended

3) Send the following materials to the Community and Behavioral Health Department:
Arlys Joy Thompson, Graduate Program Coordinator, Department of Community and Behavioral Health, 200 Hawkins Drive, Room E231 GH, Iowa City, IA 52242 USA

C) Application Procedure for MPH Program (with Community and Behavioral Health or Health Communication Subtracks; or Maternal, Child, and Family Health or Nutrition and Exercise Focus Areas):

Note:  The CBH department is not accepting applications for the Spring 2009 semester.   The next semester for which you may apply is the Summer 2009 semester. 

1) Complete the online Graduate College Application at:

2) Send the following materials to the Office of Admissions:
