The Gambia International Health and Environmental Internship and Research ProgramSummer 2004: May 31 - July 7The Gambia College-School of Public Health
A six-week summer program provides students interested in international public health and environmental issues with an opportunity to complete public health internships, clinical rotations or develop field-based research projects at the Gambia School of Public Health (GC-SPH) practicum sites within The Gambia. Students participate in and critically observe public health programs in urban and rural settings. The program provides undergraduate and graduate students majoring in social sciences, natural sciences, health sciences, and environmental studies to study a broad range of health and environmental health-related topics through field-based studies. Application Deadline is March 14, 2004 Students on the program are asked to keep journals. Find out what previous participants have recorded about their experiences and impressions. Collaborating PartnersCIREH partners with the African Institute for Environmental, Health, and Educational Equity and The Gambia College School of Public Health. Located on a 15-acre campus on the Atlantic Coast of The Gambia, West Africa, the African Institute serves as the umbrella organization for Africorps—under which this internship program exists. |
