Celebrating the opening of our new building

to
create a vibrant home for public health
learning
and collaboration.

The College of Public Health celebrated the dedication of its new building on April 20, 2012. An estimated 500 guests attended, enjoying speakers, tours, and refreshments throughout the afternoon.
Highlights included a guest lecture by CDC Director Thomas Frieden, a keynote speech by Sen. Tom Harkin, and remarks by UI President Sally Mason and other dignitaries. (View dedication ceremony video).
“It’s no question that experts at this college have had a profound national impact in the last decade,” Harkin said.
“We finally have a world-class facility to house our world-class college,” said Mason. “There are few places in the state you can go and not feel the impact, directly and indirectly, of the College of Public Health.”
The dedication program was followed by tours and a reception.
Thank you to everyone who attended and to all the college's friends and supporters who helped make this day a reality.
