2006 Iowa General Assembly approves $2 million in planning funds for the UI to develop an academic home for the College of Public Health.
2007 Iowa General Assembly approves $18.7 million in capital appropriations and Academic Building Revenue Bonds to finance the new College of Public Health Building.
Board of Regents grants final approval to proceed with development of the new facility.
Groundbreaking ceremony held at the future building site.

2008 Demolition of the UI International Center building clears the site for the new College of Public Health Building.
2009 Construction begins.
2010 Board of Regents approves addition of a shelled fifth floor on the building’s north wing to house a future Public Health Research Institute.

2011 Construction completed. Faculty and staff move into the building in December.
2012 Building opens in January for spring semester classes. The dedication takes place April 20.
