Prospective Students

Admission Requirements

MS - Epidemiology

  • A baccalaureate degree (or equivalent) is required with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • The GRE exam has been revised, please see the Educational Testing Services (ETS) GRE website for test information and score reporting details: http://www.takethegre.com/new-gre-test. If you took the exam prior to August 1, 2011, the recommended minimum score is 1050 (combined verbal and quantitative)
  • TOEFL (or IELTS during the 2006-2007 year) scores are required for international students except permanent residents. The minimum score is 100. The minimum recommended IELTS score is 7.0.
    • The TOEFL requirement is waived in some cases. See Graduate Admissions for details.
  • Undergraduate preparation must have included two semesters of biological sciences and mathematics.

MS - Clinical Investigation

  • A baccalaureate degree (or equivalent) is required with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • The GRE exam has been revised, please see the Educational Testing Services (ETS) GRE website for test information and score reporting details: http://www.takethegre.com/new-gre-test. If you took the exam prior to August 1, 2011, the recommended minimum score is 1050 (combined verbal and quantitative) MCAT scores may be substituted.
  • A doctoral degree in a health sciences field (MD, DO, MBBS, PhD, DDS, DMV, or PharmD)

MPH - Epidemiology

  • Applicants must have earned a Bachelor's or a professional degree. The minimum grade-point-average requirement for admission to the MPH program is 3.0.
  • The Graduate Record Exam (GRE) is required.The GRE exam has been revised, please see the Educational Testing Services (ETS) GRE website for test information and score reporting details: http://www.takethegre.com/new-gre-test. If you took the exam prior to August 1, 2011, the recommended minimum score is 1058 (combined verbal and quantitative). The recommended minimum score on the combined verbal and quantitative portions is a verbal score of 467 and a quantitative score of 591. (The following scores may be substituted for the GRE: LSAT, VAT (or VCAT), MCAT, DAT, GMAT or PCAT.)

PhD - Epidemiology

  • A baccalaureate degree (or equivalent) is required and a MS or MPH degree in an area closely related to epidemiology is required.. The minimum grade-point-average requirement is 3.0,
  • The GRE exam has been revised, please see the Educational Testing Services (ETS) GRE website for test information and score reporting details: http://www.takethegre.com/new-gre-test. If you took the exam prior to August 1, 2011, the recommended minimum score is 1050 (combined verbal and quantitative) MCAT scores may be substituted.
