Thomas Cook, PhD, PT
Professor in Dept. of OEH in the College of Public Health
Professor of Physical Therapy in the College of Medicine

Dr. Cook's educational background includes Master of Science degrees in both Physical Therapy and Biomedical Engineering and a doctorate in Industrial Engineering with a specialization in Ergonomics. He is Director of the University of Iowa Biomechanics and Ergonomics Training Facility. Dr. Cook is involved in ergonomics research, training and outreach activities in the United States as well as several countries in Central and Eastern Europe. He teaches Occupational and Environmental Health Seminar (175:280) and Occupational Ergonomics II: Application and Current Topics (175:295), two courses in the training program.

Dan Anton, PhD, PT, ATC
Assistant Professor in Dept. of OEH in the College of Public Health

Dr. Anton received a B.S. degree in physical therapy from Northwestern University, a MS in physical therapy from Samuel Merritt College, and a PhD in Rehabilitation Science with an emphasis in Ergonomics from The University of Iowa. He is a physical therapist with over 18 years experience treating work-related musculoskeletal disorders and provides ergonomic outreach services through WORKSAFE IOWA. His primary research interests are construction ergonomics and exposure measurement of physical risk factors in the workplace. Dr. Anton teaches Occupational Ergonomics I (175:190) and Clinical Ergonomics (175:295).

David G. Wilder, PhD, PE, CPE
Associate Professor of Biomechanical Engineering
Director of the Jolt/Vibration/Seating Laboratory in the Iowa Spine Research Center

Dr. Wilder's doctoral training was in mechanical engineering at the University of Vermont. He is also a Professional Engineer and Certified Professional Ergonomist. Dr. Wilder has lectured extensively on ergonomics and biomechanics to professional engineers, company employees, national and international agencies, and governmental groups. Dr. Wilder currently teaches Ergonomics of Occupational Injuries (52:152) as part of the ergonomics training program.

John D. Lee, PhD
Associate Professor of Industrial Engineering / specialization in Ergonomics/Human Factors

Dr. Lee received his MS and PhD from the University of Illinois in industrial engineering and mechanical engineering, respectively. He has ten years of research and consulting experience aimed at matching human capabilities to the demands of technologically intensive systems. Dr Lee teaches Human Factors I: Principles and Methods (56:144) in the Ergonomics Training Program.

Thomas Schnell, PhD
Assistant Professor in Industrial Engineering / specialization in Human Factors/ Ergonomics

Dr. Schnell received his doctoral training at Ohio University. His areas of research are driver visual performance, driver behavior assessment and measurement, accident analyses, human perception and information processing, human sensory capabilities and limitations, industrial hygiene, digital computer simulation, statistical analysis and modeling, designed experiment, questionnaire design, software and database design, intelligent systems, image processing and vision systems. Dr. Schnell teaches Human Factors II: Design and Evaluation (056:147) in the Ergonomics Training Program.
