What is The
Healthful Living Program?
The University of Iowa Healthful Living Program (HLP) is a new
service-oriented component of the Preventive Intervention Center in the
Department of Epidemiology, College of Public Health. The HLP is designed to
help you identify and meet your personal goals for health and wellness by using
the science base in prevention.
Our services complement the health care services you receive from your personal
physician and other health care providers. Many of the HLP programs will be
reimbursable using Flex Savings Accounts.
What is the
focus of the program?
We promote the World Health Organization definition of health:
"...a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely
the absence of disease"
The purpose of the
Healthful Living Program is to help people optimize their health…and to have
fun in the process!
