2000: "Advancing the Health of Communities in the New Millenium: New Forces Shaping Our Future"

The 22nd Annual Healthcare Executive Symposium sponsored by The University of Iowa's Department of Health Management and Policy and its alumni took place on October 19-20, 2000, at the Sheraton Iowa City Hotel in Iowa City, Iowa.

This annual event featured national leaders in the field of healthcare addressing topics of current interest. This year's symposium is titled "Advancing the Health of Communities in the New Millennium: New Forces Shaping Our Future." The speakers included:

Stan Davis, nationally known speaker and author of books including Blur and Future Wealth;

David Bernd, Chief Executive Officer of Sentara Healthcare, Norfolk, Virginia;

Symposium registrants also had the opportunity to attend The University of Iowa-Ohio State University football game on Saturday, October 21, including a pre-game brunch at 9:30 a.m. hosted by The University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics.

We hope our annual symposium will contribute to participants' efforts to maintain annual professional development, and will provide an environment that supports peer interaction and relationship building.
