What interested you in health care?
My interest in health care began on the provider side as a pre-medical student in undergrad. After numerous internships with local health departments and medical organizations near my undergrad institution, I realized I could have a much greater impact on individuals and the community as an administrator than I could as a clinician. You’re able to impact the population on a larger scale rather than on an individual basis.
Why did you choose Iowa?
I chose the Iowa MHA/MPH in Policy programs because of their alumni. The alumni in the MHA program are successful, give back, and are located all over the country and are working for a wide range of organizations. The established program, along with the Midwest location is what drew me to Iowa!
Favorite Grad School Moment
Thus far, my favorite moment was Dr. Levey getting honored for faculty member of the year for the College of Public Health and having a majority of the students honor him during the award ceremony. You could truly tell how passionate and dedicated he and others in the department are to health management and policy and to students.
Hobbies
Spending time with family and friends, traveling, running and enjoying life in Iowa City!
