Master of Health Administration
Curriculum
A total of 60 semester hours of graduate credit (generally 21 months of full-time study) are required to complete the master’s degree. Transfer credit and course waivers are allowed, but all students are expected to complete a minimum of 54 credit hours during their course of study.
During their first year, students become familiar with the social, political, economic, and financial environments of the American health care system. The concepts, tools, and techniques of effective managerial decision-making, financial planning, and administrative control also are introduced.
During their second year students pursue in-depth applications, and develop skills in areas relating to their particular interests and career objectives. Through elective course work, students may develop specialization in areas such as administrative operations, aging, financial management, or rural health.
