Executive in Residence
Ian Montgomery has been the Executive in Residence at the University of Iowa's Graduate Program in Health Management and Policy since the Fall of 2010. In this role, Mr. Montgomery:
- Assists students and faculty with the practical applications of coursework
- Coordinates the program's year-long weekly Executive Seminar Series
- Provides guidance and assistance to students on professional development, including but not limited to skill enhancement, resume and cover letter construction, and interviewing skills
Mr. Montgomery is also an Adjunct Associate Professor in the program:
- Teaching the elective Group Practice and Ambulatory Care course
- Co-teaching the core course in Strategic Planning and Marketing
- Lecturing in the Executive Seminar and Capstone core classes
Ian Montgomery has undergraduate degrees in Psychology and Sociology (1975) and a graduate degree in Health Administration (1979), all from the University of Iowa. He has been a Certified Medical Practice Executive since 1985. He has worked for over thirty-two years developing, administering, and consulting for a wide variety of medical practices across the United States. He has been CEO of the Iowa City and Cedar Rapids Heart Center, P.C. since 2006, and also maintains a national consulting practice through TRG HealthCare Solutions.
