The MPH in Policy
offers coursework and applied learning experiences that prepare students for careers
in health policy analysis, system and organizational planning, and program evaluation.
Graduates are employed by federal, state and local governments, professional
associations, and private agencies. They are responsible for assessing health
problems, developing policy proposals, and assuring that programs meet objectives.
During the first year students are introduced to policy and planning environments,
and are provided the concepts, tools, and techniques required in public health practice.
During their second year, students pursue in-depth applications and work-experiences,
and through their elective course work, specializations in aging, rural, or other
populations or topics.
A total of 59 semester hours of graduate credit are required to complete the
master’s degree in policy and administration.
