The IAAAP Munitions Workers Study is a health study being carried out by researchers at the University of Iowa College of Public Health, under contract to the U.S. Department of Defense. The study will attempt to determine whether or not munitions-related work conducted at the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant and similar facilities increased the mortality (death) or cancer incidence rate for either former or current workers. In addition, study investigators will try to determine if workers experienced an increase in beryllium sensitization.

The IAAAP Munitions Workers Study has begun beryllium screening of eligible workers.
