NIOSH Agricultural Centers
Established as part of a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) / NIOSH Agricultural Health and Safety Initiative in 1990. The nine Centers were established by cooperative agreement to conduct research, education, and prevention projects to address the nation’s pressing agricultural health and safety problems. Geographically, the Centers are distributed throughout the nation (including the Great Plains Center for Agricultural Health in Iowa )to be responsive to the agricultural health and safety issues unique to the different regions.
North American Agromedicine Consortium
An affiliation of faculty representing schools of Agriculture, forestry and natural resources, life sciences, family and consumer sciences, medicine, nursing, allied health, public health, pharmacy and veterinary medicine, and representatives of related government, agribusiness, and voluntary agencies. The objective of the consortium is to share through a multi-disciplinary approach, their expertise and resources in public service, education and research of the enhancement of agricultural, forestry, and fisheries safety and health within their state, province, country, and the North American region. The consortium is affiliated with the International Association of Agricultural Medicine and Rural Health.

Norwegian Farmers´ Association For Occupational Health And Safety

Practical Farmers of Iowa
A non-profit, educational organization that began in 1985 and now has over 700 members in Iowa and neighboring states. Our mission is to research, develop and promote profitable, ecologically sound and community-enhancing approaches to agriculture. We carry out diverse programs to assist farmers with both production and marketing needs, to raise public awareness of where food comes from and how it is grown, and to educate youth about agriculture and the environment.
