Statement of Purpose
To provide basic information and skills to enable the health care professional to function in the anticipation, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of occupational illnesses and injuries in the farm community. This training and certification is required for a health care professional or clinic to become an AgriSafe provider affiliated with the AgriSafe Network.

Target Audience
Nurses, nurse practitioners, physicians, veterinarians, physician assistants, physical therapists, and other interested health care providers.


Iowa City Training Program Credit
Session I: The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine designates this educational activity for a maximum of 19.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
Session II: The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine designates this educational activity for a maximum of 18.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

The University of Iowa College of Nursing is an Iowa Board of Nursing approved provider: Number 1. Full time attendance is required for CEU award. Session I is approved for 21 contact hours. Session II is approved for 18 contact hours. CEU cards will not be accepted until the end of the third day of each session. CEU cards will not be accepted until the end of the third day of the program.

Sessions I and II combined may be taken for 3 hours of graduate credit from the College of Public Health. Students should register for 175:209, Rural Health and Agricultural Medicine.

Continuing nursing education contact hours will be awarded bySouthern Illinois University Edwardsville School of Nursing. The SIUE School of Nursing is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Illinois Nurses Association which is an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.
