- New Partnerships - We are pleased to announce that the New York Department of Health has joined our multi-state Learning Management System partnership! We welcome their collaboration. View their site

Course Updates
- Volunteer Management for Public Health – Now Available!
This course is intended for public health agencies in Iowa who may need to utiliize volunteers in both emergency and non-emergency situations.
- Effect of Disasters on Mental Health: Children & Adolescents –
Now Available!
This course explains how children are affected by disaster, how to meet their needs when administering psychological first aid in the immediate aftermath of the disaster, and what signs and symptoms of mental health disorders to look for in the months that follow.
- Risk Communication for Special Populations - Now Available!
This course demonstrates how to define and locate special population groups in a community and ascertain how to best communicate with them in order to ensure that they understand the information needed to prepare, cope and recover from public health emergencies.
- Volunteer Training - Now Available on CD-ROM or Online!
This training is composed of 4 short modules:
This 15-minute training course for public health volunteers explains why they are an essential part of a successful emergency response and guides them through the process of becoming a volunteer.
This 15-minute training course for public health volunteers explains how the Incident Command System works and how they as volunteers fit into it.
- Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
This 15-minute training course for public health volunteers demonstrates the appropriate use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for protection from hazardous exposure and explains the use of other protocol (standard precautions, expanded precautions and hand hygiene) to protect themselves and others from infectious disease.
- Stress Management
This 15-minute training course for public health volunteers familiarizes them with the symptoms of traumatic stress, both during the event and afterwards, and provides them with methods to manage their stress, on-site, immediately after the event, and once they return to their everyday life.
