New Public Health Administrators Series

The Upper Midwest Public Health Training Center (UMPHTC) collaborated with the Iowa Counties Public Health Association to develop a non-academic, practiced-based educational series targeted toward new Public Health Administrators, Directors and Nursing Administrators in Iowa. The New Public Health Administrators Series reflects UMPHTC's continuing effort to provide training to strengthen the skills and knowledge of the current public health workforce.

The intended audience includes public health administrators, directors and nurse administrators who are relatively new in their positions--three years or less. Local boards of health, city and county health departments, hospitals, home health agencies and visiting nurse associations typically employ these public health professionals.

The purpose of the course is to cover topics that are especially relevant to new public health administrators, providing the opportunity for participants to enhance the knowledge, skills and abilities they need to successfully administer today's public health workforce.

An online version of the course is available via the PrepareIowa Learning Management System.
