Answer: Faculty members are encouraged to be in touch with the Practicum Course Faculty whenever they wish to discuss potential projects. Students meet with Course Faculty throughout the year to develop their practicum projects.

Question: Do I need to include a stipend in my budget to pay the student for work done during the Practicum Experience?

Answer: Not necessarily. The Practicum Experience is a collegiate course for which students receive academic credit. Some students find paid positions to complete the course requirements, however, compensation for most is the opportunity to gain valuable real world experience.

Question: Will I be expected to grade the student's work?

Answer: No. The Course Director assigns the grade for the Practicum course. Preceptors are asked to submit an evaluation after the student completes the Practicum project to provide feedback on the experience. Evaluation forms are in the process of being converted to electronic surveys.
