- 175:170 Injury and Violence Prevention
- This course introduces students to the theory, research, and practice of injury control. Topics include concepts that form the foundation of the study of injury control and prevention, the data available, risk factors, and prevention approaches.
- 175:175 Research Methods in Disaster Studies
- This course introduces students to the epidemiologic study of disasters and their health outcomes. It focuses on research to reduce health effects from disasters and discusses disaster response and preparedness research.
- 175:251 Injury Epidemiology
- How epidemiology can be applied to injury prevention and control: surveying the literature, specific methodological problems in injury epidemiology, critical evaluation of research articles.
- 175:253 Epidemiology of Occupational Injuries
- This course introduces students to the detailed study of the epidemiologic literature on occupational injuries and their prevention. It focuses on research methods in this field.
- 42:199 Selected Aspects of Social Work and Social Welfare: Domestic Violence Interventions
- This course approaches domestic violence intervention and prevention from an interdisciplinary point of view focusing primarily on spouse abuse and intimate partner abuse. The course examines the incidence and prevalence, and etiological theories of domestic violence. This course is taught in the UI School of Social Work with the support of the Injury Prevention Research Center.
