Become Certified in Public Health
Thinking about taking the Certified in Public Health exam in February 2013? The University of Iowa College of Public Health will be offering the exam in the CPH Building on Saturday, Feb.16, 2013. The registration fee for this exam date and location will be reduced thanks to a subsidy offered by the College of Public Health to its alumni and current students.

Childhood Obesity Subject of Hansen Award Lecture, Conference
Since 1965, the United States has seen a 350 percent increase in childhood obesity among children 6 to 11 years old. This startling fact about the national obesity epidemic was one among many offered by Mary Story, PhD, RD, in her 2012 Richard and Barbara Hansen Distinguished Lecture delivered this fall as part of the Iowa Childhood Obesity Conference held at the College of Public Health.

Distinguished Faculty Lecture on Rural Health Online
Earlier this fall, Jim Merchant, professor of occupational and environmental health, presented the CPH Distinguished Faculty Lecture, "Advocating for Rural Health: Community-based Research and Policy." His talk highlighted some of the many rural health studies he has worked on during his career.

Doctoral Student Hamann Earns High Marks for Research
