From the Dean As I write this, the sense of renewal that comes with spring is tempered by the tragic events that continue to unfold in Japan. This issue features a compelling first-hand account of the earthquake and its aftermath by John Wocher, executive vice president of Kameda Medical Center in Kamogawa, Japan. His note drives home the vital role of public health in disaster preparedness, response, and recovery. Our thoughts go out to those affected by this crisis and those working tirelessly to guard people's safety and health in Japan.
Warm regards,
Sue Curry
