MPH Combined Degree Programs
Veterinary students attending Iowa State University have the opportunity
to work concurrently toward an MPH degree from the University of
Iowa. This program has been developed in response to the critical
national need for more veterinary professionals with advanced training
related to infectious diseases and public health. It is one of
the first programs in the US the enables students to obtain both
degrees in four years.
Upon graduation, students in this combined program, offered in collaboration with the UI College of Law, will be able to serve either as a public health professional having strong preparation and competency to deal with legal and policy issues or as a lawyer specializing in health care issues in a public health setting.

of both medicine and public health in their practice.
This program, provided cooperatively with the UI College of Nursing,
