Practicum Presentation Options
Poster Presentation Option (fall
and spring semesters only)
Each student must demonstrate
the ability to make a professional presentation to an informed
audience in a competent manner. The poster presentation is one of
two options for completing this requirement.
The poster presentation
allows students an alternative format that may better accommodate
their area of study and future practice.
A poster review committee
will evaluate the posters during the poster presentation. Students
are required to attend their posters during the entire evaluation
session to answer questions of the members of the poster review
committee and interested observers.
The student's practicum
preceptor is encouraged, but not required, to attend the poster
presentation, which is open to other faculty, students and staff.
The poster presentation
option is not offered during the summer semester. To complete
the Practicum course during the summer semester, students must make
an oral presentation.
Students who choose the
poster presentation should send a copy of the written report to
the Practicum Office (email to mph-practicum@uiowa.edu)
at least one week prior to the poster presentation date.
Students who choose the
poster presentation option do not need to arrange for faculty involvement
in the review committee or to take any forms to the presentation,
but they should follow the guidelines below:
