- What is your current job?
Health Educator, Planned Parenthood of the Heartland
- What advice would you give to future graduates?
Start the job application process about 6 months before graduation! Don’t rely solely on word-of-mouth and networking to hear about job openings . Search sites such as indeed.com regularly and sign up for ‘new openings’ notification emails for any organization that you would be interested in working for – that is how I learned about my current position!
- How do you use the knowledge you gained from getting a MPH in your current position?
Every day I am reminded about the need to use evidence-based materials. How does something become evidence-based? By evaluation! These are the two most important components of my job because they ensure that we are providing science-based, medically accurate and age appropriate material to the youth that we work with!
