Class of 2021 Scholarship deadlines extended to Feb. 1, 2017

All potential incoming first-year students who are directly admitted to the public health major for Fall 2017 are invited to apply for our College of Public Health Scholarships!

Please go to the Iowa Scholarship Portal and apply before 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017. Applicants are encouraged to apply for any of the scholarships below for which they are eligible.

The College of Public Health Dean’s Scholars is a scholarship program for new incoming first-year students majoring in public health with at least a 30 ACT and 3.8 GPA on a 4.0 scale. The College of Public Health provides four years of scholarship support ($5,000 annually) to this select group of students. Through the Iowa Institute for Public Health Research and Policy, Dean’s Scholars are invited to participate in professional and social activities that will enhance their public health experience by providing opportunities to attend conferences and seminars and meet with nationally known public health experts.

The College of Public Health Diversity Scholarship is a diversity outreach scholarship for new incoming first-year students directly admitted to the public health major who are US citizens or permanent residents. In addition, one or more of the following criteria must be met: race/ethnic background, socioeconomic factors (based on the results of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid filed after January 1), and/or first-generation college student. The College of Public Health provides four years of scholarship support ($2000 annually) to a select group of students.

The College of Public Health Undergraduate Scholarship is for new incoming first-year students directly admitted to the public health major with a demonstrated financial need. A Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) must be submitted in order to be considered for this scholarship. The College of Public Health provides four years of scholarship support ($2,000 annually) to a select group of students.
