Do you have extra cold weather gear?

Students from the College of Public Health are partnering with the Johnson County Local Homelessness Coordinating Board to host Project Homeless Connect and Stand Down, an event for homeless and low-income community members, with particular attention to homeless veterans. The students are gathering donations of cold weather gear and other items to provide to event attendees. New or gently used items that have been washed before donation are welcome.

Donation boxes will be available under the main stairs in the College of Public Health Building Sept. 2-9.

Items requested:

  • Mittens or gloves
  • Warm hats
  • Scarves
  • Winter coats
  • Sleeping bags
  • Blankets
  • Can openers
  • Backpacks

Project Homeless Connect and Stand Down will be held on Nov. 20 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
