Susan J. Curry Named Dean of UI College of Public Health  

University of Iowa President Sally Mason announced today that Susan J. Curry, PhD, has been named dean of the University of Iowa College of Public Health, effective Aug. 1.

Curry, director of the Institute for Health Research and Policy and professor of health policy and administration in the School of Public Health at the University of Illinois at Chicago, will hold a faculty appointment in the Department of Health Management and Policy.

College of Public Health Dean James Merchant said Curry will provide outstanding leadership for the college.

"I could not be more pleased by today’s announcement that Sue Curry has been chosen as the next dean of the College of Public Health," said Merchant. "Her experience and track record as a national public health leader make her an excellent fit for this college. Please join me in expressing our support and best wishes to Sue for every future success at the University of Iowa."
