IH Student Awards & Accomplishments
In May 2006, Matthew Murphy was awarded first runner
up in the 2006 ASPH/ HRSA/ Council on Linkages Student Award for
Excellence in Public Health Practice. He was selected by a review
committee on the basis of the quality of his student abstract,
the letters of recommendation, the student CV, and most especially,
his demonstration of the scholarship of public health practice
as exhibited in the "Critical Reflection Narrative."
In
May 2005, Matthew Murphy won Best Graduate Student Poster at the
AIHce Convention in Anaheim, CA.

In May 2004, Matthew Murphy won the Clyde Berry Endowed Scholarship from the American Industrial Hygiene Foundation (AIHF). He received the award at the American Industrial Hygiene Conference and Exposition in Atlanta, GA.
This prestigious national award of the AIHF is named after
University of Iowa Professor Emeritus Clyde Berry, who was a student
and faculty member in the University of Iowa Department of Preventative
Medicine and Environmental Health (the precursor to the Department
of Occupational and Environmental Health). The scholarship is
awarded annually based on scholarly achievement, professional
growth and leadership in the industrial hygiene profession. Three
