The PATTC will continue to offer training in substance abuse issue among Native American populations to health care professionals, and to offer training opportunities for Native American counselors on the reservation, utilizing the technology of telecommunication systems available on the reservation. In addition to continuing many existing projects, this Center has several goals for the 2001-2006 grant period:

  • Disseminate knowledge about nicotine addiction and skills in smoking cessation on the reservations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of a plan for evaluating the effects of treatment in institutions on the reservations.
  • Develop a national training resource and expand the existing network.
