During the year 2005 Prairielands ATTC participated in a number of events in Minnesota.

The following are some of the highlights of the year’s work.

  • Prairielands ATTC's 3rd Annual Substance Abuse Educator's Conference took place at Metropolitan State University, St. Paul, MN on October 20 & 21, 2005.

    The Goal of this training is to facilitate adoption of empirically supported practice among trainers and educators.

  • 36th Annual MARRCH Chemical Health Conference October 25-27, 2005, featured a the PATTC booth as well as presentations by a number of PATTC faculty advisors.

  • The PATTC Minnesota Advisory Board Meeting was October 19, 2005 at Metropolitan State University, St. Paul, MN. Featured, were a number of presentations by PATTC staff and board members.

    Discussions focused on the best methods of disseminating information regarding new empirically based practices to Minnesota’s counselors.

  • Recovery Month in Minnesota Featured a number of exciting events that PATTC was pleased to be a part of.

    A Kickoff Spirituality Breakfast was held September 8 at Augsburg College, Minneapolis, and on the "Art and Recovery" Art Show Opened. The 27th was the Minnesota Twins Game at the Metrodome, another well attended event in Minneapolis.

  • PATTC events were not limited to the Twin Cities metropolitan area. A series of day long seminars focusing on “Best Practices in Chemical Health Treatment: Women Together With Their Children” took place on September 26th in Thief River Falls, and on September 27th in Cass Lake.

    The Keynote Presentation was given by Anne Helene Skinstad, PhD, assistant professor in the College of Public Health at The University of Iowa.

    These were important events and were co-sponsored by the Red Lake Nation Chemical Health Programs, the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe, and Journey Home. Other presenters included Candace Peters, MA, CADC, Karen Barrett, CADCIII, Carol Abbott, Joal Peitz, Carol Belling, Debbie Rybos, BA, LADC, and Char Lee.
