The Addiction Technology Transfer Centers (ATTC)
are a nationwide, multi-disciplinary resource that draws upon the
knowledge, experience and latest research of recognized experts
in the field of addictions. Prairielands ATTC, one of the regional
centers, covers areas of Iowa, Nebraska, Minnesota, North Dakota,
and South Dakota.
Purposes of the study:
• Describe characteristics of participants attending the training
events provided by the PATTC in the past year (Oct. 2003–
Sept. 2004).
• Examine participants’ perceptions of the training
events.

Implications:
- White Americans comprised the majority of the population served by the PATTC, an indication that it needs to begin to provide trainings to other cultural groups.
- Towards this effort, the Center of Excellence for Native Americans and Substance Abuse has expanded from a regional to a national center in. This has impacted the amount training focus.
- Overall, the data collected provides a comprehensive overview of the effectiveness of training events offered by the PATTC in 2003/2004.
