Jeanie Kimbel joined the Master of Public Health (MPH) Program in facilitation of the MPH Practicum Experience in 2011.  She enjoys working with students as they plan and complete this exciting component of their MPH degree. Jeanie also works in the Career Services office, supporting the career development of College of Public Health students.

Jeanie began her work in the College of Public Health in 2004, when she served as the training coordinator for the Iowa Tobacco Research Center, which operated Iowa’s smoking cessation helpline, and conducted training for healthcare providers. She served as project manager for the Unintended Pregnancy Pharmacy Project, Iowa Initiative. She also facilitated collaborative project and internship placements for College of Public Health students with the Institute for Public Health Practice.

Jeanie holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a Master of Arts in counseling and human development from the University of Iowa. Earlier in her career, she worked as a therapist and clinical supervisor, practicing in the chemical dependency and employee assistance fields.
