Practice Experiences

At the University of Iowa College of Public Health, we define a "practice experience" as any opportunity outside of the classroom to "practice" the art and science of public health. Opportunities could range from a paid internship at a public health agency, to volunteering at a free medical clinic.

All your experiences, practice and classroom, combine to make you exactly what your future employees will want: a leader who can apply advanced knowledge to specific public health challenges outside the classroom.

So don't wait until your last semester. Start getting experience now. Below we've compiled information about different resources in the College of Public Health that can help you get started.
