The Research Office:
- promotes public health research throughout the college and University;
- facilitates research activities by way of communication with faculty, staff, and students; and
- works with the college's Executive Committee and College of Public Health Research Council in shaping the college's research mission.
The College of Public Health Research Office was established July 1, 2000.
A major part of the Research Office's activities relate to the Carver College of Medicine-College of Public Health Research Enterprise. This is a joint endeavor of the two colleges and includes sharing of a number of research programs including pilot grant programs, Research Week, and various research publications.
Dr. Leon Burmeister, College of Public Health Associate Dean for Research and Academic Affairs, works closely with Dr. Michael Apicella, Senior Associate Dean for Scientific Affairs, Carver College of Medicine, and Dr. Gary Hunninghake, Senior Associate Dean for Clinical and Translational Science, Carver College of Medicine, to insure the growth and development of the two collegiate research programs are in accordance with the shared research enterprise objective.
