Dr. Wallinga
is a physician and Director of the Antibiotic Resistance Project at
the Minneapolis-based Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy (IATP).
He's a national expert in the use of antibiotics in animal agriculture,
as well as in the regulation of pesticides and other environmental chemicals
and their health impacts on children. Dr. Wallinga is a graduate of
the University of Minnesota Medical School, Princeton University and
Dartmouth College. In addition to practicing medicine, he has worked
as a consultant to the World Bank and the World Health Organization,
and with the U.S. Agency for International Development. From 1996-2001,
he was Senior Scientist in the Public Health program of the 500,000
member Natural Resources Defense Council. He is author of Putting Children
First: Making Pesticide Levels in Food Safer for Infants & Children,
co-author of several journal articles on pesticide regulation as it
pertains to children's health, and a contributing author to In Harm's
Way: Toxic Threats to Child Development.
