Occupational Hearing Conservationist Recertification Course

This workshop provides required training for those who already have CAOHC certification. The update includes review of hearing measurement techniques, employee education strategies, selection and fit of hearing protection, as well as current state and federal regulations relating to noise exposure and hearing conservation. For those who require nursing CEUs, this course will award 9.6 contact hours (.96 CEUs).

Lead Faculty: Laura Kauth, MA, CCC‐A, Independent Consultant, Davenport, Iowa.

Laura Kauth earned degrees in English, biology, and psychology at the University of Iowa, and completed her Masters in audiology in 2000. Originally employed as both a clinical and occupational audiologist, she moved to independent consulting in hearing loss prevention in 2010. She is an active and enthusiastic member of the National Hearing Conservation Association, having served on its Executive Council for several years, including as President. In her free time, she engages in guerilla audiology, accosting friends, family, and random strangers with earplugs and education.
