Iowa businesses, school districts and citizens are responding to the escalating COVID-19 pandemic by working and taking classes at home.

With classes canceled or moving online, college students are moving back home. They’ll be joined by their parents, siblings and anyone one else who is working from home as the country practices social distancing to stop the spread of COVID-19.

On this edition of Talk of Iowa, host Charity Nebbe talks with family therapist Jacob Priest about getting along during these trying times. Priest describes the importance of establishing personal space, respecting boundaries and being productive in the household.

Rima Afifi, professor and interim chairperson in the Community and Behavioral Health Department in the College of Public Health at the University of Iowa, joins the program to talk about the challenges college students face with their spring semester transitioning to online courses as they pack up their belongings and move back home.
