MediRevv is celebrating 10 years in business this year and the company’s leader predicts faster growth and expanded offerings in the next decade.

The company, which works in coding and revenue cycle management for hospitals, physician groups and other healthcare providers, now has 50 contracts in around 30 states, CEO Chris Klitgaard said.

“We’ve just bootstrapped it,” he said. “We’ve grown by doing great things for our clients. We’ve experienced steady, consistent growth these last 10 years and it doesn’t show any sign of slowing down.”

Klitgaard credits the company’s success in part to a culture that balances hard work with flexible scheduling and opportunities to give back.

An “ethos committee” organizes health and financial wellness programs for employees and plans philanthropic events like building homes, serving meals and donating to homeless shelters.

Employees get two days each year of paid time to volunteer at a community nonprofit of their choice. As part of a pay-it-forward campaign for the 10-year celebration, every month 30-40 employees are each given $10 to put toward a good deed in the community.

Groups from the company have also visited schools in the Iowa City area to pay students’ outstanding lunch account balances.

The company strives for an inclusive environment where every worker can succeed personally and professionally, Klitgaard said.

“Diversity is always a challenge by nature of where we live, but we are a very welcoming organization,” he said. “It doesn’t matter your race, creed, lifestyle or color — basically what we tell them is work hard and be yourself. Be authentic. And maybe even a little weird.

“That’s what makes life interesting, and we try to bring that into the workplace.”
