Call for proposals: The Diversity Seminar Fall 2020

Published on April 30, 2020

The Center for Diversity and Enrichment (CDE), in collaboration with the Office of Graduate Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion; the University Libraries; and the Office of the Provost requests proposals for presentations as part of its Diversity Seminar. The seminar is a series of weekly presentations that will provide a safe and supportive space in which scholars may present their research to colleagues and students on campus.

As part of its mission to promote student success and enrichment, the CDE seeks to support and promote the scholarship of faculty, staff, and graduate students with historically underrepresented global majority and/or marginalized identities at the University of Iowa. Scholars whose research addresses populations with marginalized identities may also submit proposals. The Diversity Seminar will continue during the Fall 2020 semester. Dates and times of each seminar will be determined after proposals are submitted.

Proposals should be 250-500 words, and include a brief (2 pages maximum) CV. Presentations should be 20-25 minutes in length and provide sufficient content for 35-40 minutes of discussion to follow. Please email proposals by Monday, June 1, 2020, to:
