CPH Spotlight Series
CPH Spotlight Series
The College of Public Health spotlights speakers, films, workshops, and other events
that feature public health topics of broad interest and appeal to all CPH faculty, staff, and students.
Spotlights are primarily held from 12:30 to 1:20 p.m. on Wednesdays during the fall and spring semesters. No classes will be scheduled for that time slot.
“Spotlight Series” events are intended to showcase public health topics of broad appeal and provide a venue for community-building among CPH faculty, staff, and students. Examples include prominent guest speakers, CPH DEI Committee Events, Career Services workshops, alumni and expert panel discussions, and celebratory events connected with National Public Health Week, Global Public Health Week, Research Week, etc.
The college holds open Mondays and Wednesdays from 12:30-1:20 p.m. each week and attempts to avoid scheduling activities during this time that involve students. There are no CPH classes offered at that time on either day. Mondays from 12:30-1:20 p.m. are to be held open for common activities such as student association meetings, open forums, departmental events or meetings, professional development, etc. These activities will be arranged outside the Spotlight event calendar to the extent possible, with an example exception being week-long celebrations such as Global Public Health Week, Research Week, and Public Health Week. Wednesdays from 12:30-1:20 p.m. are held for college-wide Spotlight events with broad appeal.
