MPHTC recognized for creating disabilities resources

Published on September 10, 2020

The Midwestern Public Health Training Center (MPHTC) is the 2020 recipient of the Terry Cunningham Community Award. This award is given annually in Iowa City to a community organization or agency which goes above and beyond to promote the inclusion of people with disabilities.

Mike Hoenig, program coordinator for the UI Center for Disabilities and Development (CDD), nominated the MPHTC in recognition of its collaboration with CDD on the creation of educational resources, including its work to incorporate disability into a health equity podcast series and subsequent COVID discussion.
